Registered in Cambodia for the first time in 1955 under the name of Khaou Chuly Enterprise, and since 1993 as the shareholder-owned Khaou Chuly MKK Construction Co., Ltd., we are now the largest and one of the most reputable of local construction companies.

Originally founded by Oknha Khaou Chuly, from the time of its inception, the company has been active in a range of projects including civil engineering, building, electrical and mechanical works. In the pre-Khmer Rouge era, some of our notable buildings included Phnom Penh landmarks such as the Olympic Stadium, the Cambodiana Hotel and the Royal University of Phnom Penh.

On Khaou Chuly’s return from France in 1993, he and Mr. Khaou Phallaboth made the decision to rebuild the company, renaming it Khaou Chuly MKK, in partnership with the Japanese firm Maeda corporation, since which time we have experienced constant growth, building airports, roads, bridges, dams and irrigation structures, water supply, and electrical and mechanical power plants as well as other buildings.

In recent years, Khaou Chuly MKK has undergone an extensive modernization process, with advanced training and design processes, introducing sophisticated design software and total quality management, all of which ensure the company’s going concern. Many of the company’s current projects are internationally funded by overseas agencies including the EU, JICA, SCA, USAID, AUSAID etc. with the aim of developing Cambodia’s infrastructure.

Over the past two years, Khaou Chuly MKK has experienced rapid growth, with projects worth a total of US$ 7.3 million in 2004 to US$ 29 million in 2005 (For details, please go to the Financial Highlights). Shareholder and bank support, in addition to its substantial capital resource base, ensures the company’s ongoing stability.

Khaou Chuly MKK’s commitment to quality wasrecently rewarded with the prestigious ISO 9001–2000 certification, making it the first Cambodian construction company to achieve this international recognition.
